Awhile ago, our neighbor sent over a container of magnificent cookies. I ran into her the other day and asked for the recipe. She started out, "I got it in e-mail from my friend. This woman and her daughter were eating at a cafe in Texas and ..." I laughed, explained that it was an urban myth, and dug up the recipe online. Our roommate, Joe, made 209 of these!

Curried chicken with scallions, rice, and cucumbers. Mmmmm .... HOT! It was my first attempt. Next try will be with Penzey's Sweet Curry Powder.

Are you sensing a theme with my recent cooking? Chunks of chicken, various ways, served with rice. Gonna have to step up my game and make something else.

I marinated the chicken in fresh ginger and garlic and a splash of soy sauce. After stir-frying with red, yellow, and green peppers and onions, I served the completed dish with leftover brown rice.

Today was the 12th anniversary of Crash's and my first date. We had kabobs, brown rice, and pound cake with fresh strawberries and whipped cream for dinner.

We had charcoal-grilled sirloin steaks, au gratin potatoes, and green beans. Tasted better than it sounds.

These are as good as the caramels you pay a dollar apiece for, but can be made at a fraction of the cost.

This Italian variation of the Sloppy Joe is a fast, easy alternative to pizza pie. Very versatile. Add onions, garlic, green peppers, mushrooms, olives - anything you enjoy on a pizza. This was invented by my friend, Joe (aka Guiseppe) and modified by me.
